New Court Date for Man Arrested in Drug Bust on Fishing Lake First Nation

Another court appearance has been made by a Fishing Lake First Nation man, arrested in connection with a drug bust.

On March 20th, a vehicle was pulled over on the reserve, and it was determined that the driver didn’t have a licence.

A search of the driver and the vehicle turned up about 225 grams of crystal meth, some pharmaceutical-style pills, a hunting-style knife, and drug paraphernalia.

27-year-old Ashley Smoke was remanded in custody for his next court appearance in Wadena on April 18th.
