Get ready to laugh, swoon, and root for love in the rom-com Players!

I’m continuing with the only New Year’s resolution I’ve managed to keep: “Watch more movies I haven’t seen before.” I recently watched Players, and I have to say, it was pretty good! There’s just something about a rom-com set in New York City that always gets me, even though I’ve never been there. The beautiful backdrop of the city that never sleeps adds to any romantic comedy.

Players was so fun! It follows the lives of four friends who are wingmen for each other with plays from their playbook (think Barney Stinson from How I Met Your Mother but less sleazy). When their leader Mack falls for a guy, they have to figure out what’s the play to not get in bed but to get in a relationship. Plus I love the actors, Tom Ellis, Damon Wayans Jr., and Augustus Prew. Honestly, though, the chemistry between the cast was great, which doesn’t always happen, especially in a Netflix movie.

One of my favourite parts of the movie was how it highlighted the importance of friendship and how having a solid support system can help you through even the toughest of times. Watching all the characters lean on each other and grow together was truly heartwarming. I also loved how the movie showed that being yourself is worth more than pretending to be something else for someone else.

And, of course, let’s not forget about the gorgeous shots of New York City throughout the film. The iconic skyline, Yankee Stadium, and picturesque parks all added to the charm of the movie and made me wish I could pack my bags and head to the Big Apple.

Overall, Players was a fun, feel-good movie that’s great for anyone looking for a rom-com to watch. Whether you’re a fan of New York City or just enjoy a good love story, this movie has something for everyone! Players can be streamed on Netflix. 🍿🎬❤️
