Cowessess F.N. man pleads guilty in dangerous driving incident.

A guilty plea from one of two men charged following an alleged case of dangerous driving in Regina last month.

On March 22, Regina Police say a vehicle sped through a red light at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Albert Street, and nearly hit a police vehicle.

The RPS Aerial Support Unit tracked the vehicle to a home on the 700-block of Albert Street, where the two men in the vehicle were arrested for dangerous driving, and a search of their vehicle turned up ammunition, a violation of conditions.

24-year-old Matthew Lerat-Polson of the Cowessess First Nation and 38-year-old Jeffrey Edward Canada of Regina appeared in Regina Provincial Court yesterday, where Lerat-Polson pled guilty to five charges, including Dangerous Driving and Possession of Ammunition While Prohibited, and he was sentenced to 69 days in jail, to be followed by 30 days probation and a one-year driving ban.

Canada was remanded in custody, to appear again next Thursday.
