FLYERS 2, OIL CAPITALS 1

Former Swan Valley Stampeder Jakob Jones scored 51 seconds into the fourth overtime to help the Winkler Flyers book their spot in the MJHL Turnbull Cup Final after a 2-1 victory over the Virden Oil Capitals in Game 6 on Monday night.

The two teams exchanged goals just 1:25 apart in the middle of the first period off the sticks of Zach Nicholas (WINK) and Josh Lehton (VIR).

Malachi Klassen turned aside 36 of 37 shots in the win for the Flyers, as they will play in the MJHL Finals for the first time since 2002.

Eric Reid made 47 stops in the Virden goal.

PISTONS 4, BLIZZARD 1

The Steinbach Pistons rode a 27 save performance from Cole Plowman as they stayed alive with a convincing 4-1 Game 6 road win over The Blizzard in The Pas.
