A life was claimed yesterday afternoon after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway #1 and Highway #606.

Indian Head RCMP responded to the scene around 4:00 PM yesterday after a car struck an SUV.

The driver of the SUV was declared deceased by EMS upon arrival. She was identified as a 78-year-old from Carry-The-Kettle-Nakoda-Nation.

A youth from the SUV was taken to hospital with injuries described as serious, and the driver of the car was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Indian Head RCMP continues to investigate.
