Last night was the first night of the Health Foundation Learn to Run Clinics. You may be thinking, but you did this last year Tonya, don’t you know how to run now? Well ….. I can always use a refresher.
I love the clinics because it is a dedicated time twice a week that I have to get out of the house and do something good for myself. I’m not big on the gym. Anytime I’ve tried pound, spin class, or gone to the gym, I spend the whole time thinking, I wish I was outside. So the Learn to Run Clinics are perfect as they are at the Yorkton Regional Highschool track.
And to be honest, last year, I really didn’t make it out to that many. I remember when I did the 5k run in my late 20’s. I crushed that run! Last year, I’m glad my kids were with me so I had them as the excuse for how much I DID NOT crush it.
But in true mom fashion, I didn’t make it out last night. I blame my husband, and I blame the kids! And the weather, lets blame the weather too. I saw Reader’s video, he was there! He was my walking buddy last year. I’m determined though to make it out as much as I can this year. I’d really like to actually be able to RUN the 5k at the Health Foundation Charity Road Race at the end of August, instead of walking most of it like I did last year. Wish me luck! -Tonya Cherry-
