Lotteries and Gaming Saskatchewan has earmarked $1.78 million for its latest round of charitable gaming grants, for the fourth quarter of the 2023-24 fiscal year.
12-hundred groups, in over 250 communities across the province will share in the funding, which benefits community programs and foundations, as well as sports and cultural organizations, will share in the grant funding.
Of that total, groups in Yorkton, Melville and area received more than $116,000.
Groups in good standing, that hold licensed fundraisers, such as Monte Carlo events, Texas Hold-Em poker tournaments, breakopen ticket sales, bingos and raffles, receive grants equal to 25 per cent of the net revenue raised by each event.
