Birch River Man Gets Life in Prison for Second Degree Murder

Sentencing has been handed down to a Birch River man, who admitted to a death in that community.

In October of 2022, Swan River RCMP were called to a house fire in Birch River.

Once it was extinguished, the body of a 68-year-old man was found inside.

22-year Lincoln Chartrand-Flett pleaded guilty to Second Degree Murder, and in Dauphin Court Wednesday, he was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for ten years.
