A number of Saskatchewan communities will benefit from a boost in emergency medical services (EMS) personnel, beginning this fall.
Locally, Carlyle, Ituna, Kelvington and Wadena are among 14 communities across the province that will benefit this fall.
Other communities to benefit this fall include Beechy, Estevan, Imperial, Naicam, Onion Lake, Pelican Narrows, Prince Albert, Richmound, Rosetown and Swift Current.
It’s part of the province’s multi-year , $10.85-million EMS stabilization plan to support 54 rural and northern communities.
Starting October 1, 21 full-time equivalent EMS positions will begin working, to help stabilize ambulance service in those 14 communities.
