Hey there!
Today, I want to share a little story about me, my favorite chair, and a challenge that didn’t quite go as planned. You see, when I’m out and about on location, my chair is always coming along with me. Whether I’m at a park or a car dealership, it’s always there, making sure I have a place to sit.
Then there’s Tonya, my energetic colleague. She stands through her entire remote gigs without ever needing to sit! When she teasingly called me “soft” for always having my chair, my competitive spirit kicked in. Could I stand for my three-hour remote shift? In my head, it sounded easy. After all, I’ve spent countless hours as a cashier, standing for full shifts without breaking a sweat.
With a mix of determination and a bit of confidence, I left the chair at the station and arrived to the remote ready to stand. The first hour breezed by, and I was feeling pretty good. “Take that, Tonya,” I thought, basking in premature triumph. But then hour two came along, and my dogs began barking. By the time the second hour wrapped up, I had to admit defeat. I was soft and I wanted my chair.
In the end, I learned something simple yet valuable: it’s absolutely okay to prioritize comfort. Whether you prefer standing or sitting in a chair, what truly matters is finding what works for you. Here’s to Tonya for standing her ground (literally) and to my beloved chair, for being ever-reliable.
