The City of Melville has a new mayor.
Joe Kirwan drew nearly 70 percent of the popular vote.
Kirwan received 837 votes, Maria Cole-Gayle picked up 323 votes, and Kenneth Cherney got 43 votes.
Kirwan replaces the retiring Walter Streelasky.
