A wallop of winter winter weather is taking a toll on roads and highways all across Saskatchewan.
After the heavy snow local roads in Yorkton and Melville are in pretty rough shape. The two cities will be getting their crews to clear the high priority streets first.
On the highways, it was a similar story this morning. Around Yorkton and Melville most are snow covered, but passable.
The Trans Canada was closed from east of Regina to the community of Austin Manitoba, which is about 40 kms west of Portage La Prairie.
The Saskatchewan portion of the Trans Canada has re-opened, but as of publication time it was listed as “travel not recommended”.
The Manitoba stretch remains closed to traffic in both directions at this hour.
If you are headed to Regina, most highways are snow covered with blowing snow and travel is not recommended on the Regina By-Pass.
Before you head out on the Highways in either province, check the Highway Hotline for the latest information. The links to both are below.
