Welcome December! Even though the calendar says winter’s a few more weeks away, it’s already here. The chilly winds and snowy landscapes have made their way to the prairies, and honestly, I couldn’t be more excited. While winter might have its downsides—like dry skin and endless layers of clothing—there’s something magical about this season that you just can’t find any other time of year.
First on my winter must-do list? Tobogganing! Give me a crazy carpet and a snowy hill, and I’m set for hours. Sure, I’ll be sore for a week afterward, but the fun moments racing down a hill are well worth it. There’s something about the fresh, crisp air and the sound of snow crunching that makes it.
Winter also means it’s hockey season, and there’s nothing like the excitement of the rink filled with cheering fans. From the thrill of the game to the oddly satisfying sight of the Zamboni cleaning the ice, hockey is the ultimate winter sport! And let’s not forget those rink fries—crispy, salty, and perfect for munching while supporting your favorite team. They just don’t taste the same in the summer!
And let’s talk about the ultimate winter activity: cozy movie nights. There’s no better time to snuggle under a warm blanket and dive into a marathon of holiday classics. This is THE season for endless movie nights, and I’m ready to wear out my DVD player watching all my favourites! It’s the perfect way to spend a chilly evening indoors.
So yes, we have at least three months of winter ahead, but that just means more time to enjoy everything this season has to offer.
