The City of Melville will welcome hundreds of firefighters from across Saskatchewan this spring as it hosts the Saskatchewan Volunteer Firefighters Association Provincial Fire School.
Taking place from May 9 to 11, the event offers volunteer firefighters a range of training courses from beginner to advanced levels, along with specialized seminars on vehicle extraction and heavy rescue.
While various facilities in the city will be utilized, the majority of hands-on training will occur at Suncrest College’s fire training grounds east of Melville.
This marks the first time Melville has hosted the provincial fire school since 2021.
