Hey friends! Did you catch the Oscars last night? It was an interesting watch for me because, believe it or not, I hadn’t seen a single one of the nominated movies! Couldn’t even tell you what half of them were about. But that didn’t stop me from diving into the excitement with my trusty Oscars ballot. I guessed 7 out of 23 winners correctly—about 30%! Not bad for flying blind, right?

The absolute star of the evening was Conan O’Brien as the host. How has he never hosted before? He was a total natural; funny, charming, and kept the night rolling smoothly. I’m really hoping they bring him back next year!
The fashion was dazzling, the performances were top-notch, and the acceptance speeches were so moving. And guess what? The show was only 10 minutes over its scheduled time, which is practically on time in Oscars-land!
The one thing I missed, though, was the full performances of the Best Original Song nominees. I know it would’ve added to the runtime, but those live performances are always such a highlight. Instead, we got a QR code, which just isn’t the same. But hey, the James Bond and Quincy Jones tributes were fantastic, and I only wish I’d caught the full opening number instead of just the end.
All in all, it was a super fun watch, and I’m already excited for next year’s show! Hopefully next time I’ll know at least a couple of the movies.
