A Yorkton man is in custody after being arrested yesterday afternoon on Highway 9 near Carlyle.
At 4:30 p.m., Mounties observed a speeding vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
The officer detected the odor of cannabis, prompting roadside tests, which confirmed the driver had consumed both cannabis and cocaine before driving.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a number of items including a loaded handgun, 133 grams of crack cocaine, 23 grams of illicit cannabis, pocket knives, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

26-yearAustin Ross, 26, is facing multiple charges, including assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and several firearm-related offences.
He is scheduled to appear in Estevan Provincial Court on March 10.
