Suncrest College is advancing its environmental goals with an LED lighting retrofit at its Trades and Technology Centre in Yorkton by replacing 76 outdated metal halide fixtures.
The project is expected to reduce electricity consumption by 50% and lower carbon emissions by 35,620 kg per year.
The upgrade also improves campus lighting, increasing brightness by up to 400% in some areas.
Funded through a $70,000 grant, the initiative supports Suncrest’s commitment to sustainability while saving the college $8,000 annually in electricity costs.
