Yorkton Councillor Dustin Brears has been appointed to the SUMA Cities Caucus following a decision at Monday’s city council meeting.
The caucus appointment comes as part of a governance shift within the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association, aimed at streamlining decision-making and increasing member participation in advocacy.
Under the new structure, SUMA’s Board of Directors will shrink from 18 members to seven, with sectoral caucuses determining advocacy priorities. Each caucus will elect a chair to represent them on the board.
