A Yorkton man facing numerous charges following his arrest on March 6 near Carlyle, has made his first court appearance.
In Estevan Provincial Court Monday, 26-year-old Austin Ross was remanded in custody for a bail hearing Wednesday in Carlyle.
On Thursday afternoon, Mounties observed a speeding vehicle, pulled it over, and conducted roadside tests, which confirmed the driver had allegedly consumed both cannabis and cocaine before driving.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a loaded handgun, 133 grams of crack cocaine, 23 grams of illicit cannabis, pocket knives, and drug trafficking paraphernalia.
Ross faces more than 20 charges in all, including assaulting a police officer, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and multiple weapon-related offences.
