Yorkton Film Festival to Screen ‘First Contact’ for Anti-Racism Day

The Yorkton Film Festival is marking the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination with a special screening of First Contact. Partnering with the Yorkton Public Library, the City of Yorkton, and the Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan, the event will take place on March 18 at 7 p.m. at the Yorkton Public Library.

The documentary follows six Canadians as they confront their views on Indigenous communities during a 28-day journey. A discussion will follow the screening.

Attendees can enter to win tickets to the 2025 Festival Gala, and OPEN Cinema regulars can collect participation stickers for a chance at Lobsterfest tickets. The event is free and open to the public.
