A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a former employee of the Municipality of Gilbert Plains, charged with fraud and theft.
That’s because 40-year-old Amber Fisher failed to show up in Dauphin Provincial Court yesterday (Mon).
Fisher, who was the former Chief Administrative Officer of the Municipality, had been under investigation since 2022, after a fraud complaint was made to the Manitoba RCMP and Financial Crime Unit.
The complaint alleged that Fisher had defrauded the Municipality of upwards of 500-thousand dollars while employed there.
