A 51-year-old Wynyard man is facing numerous criminal charges following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of drugs, weapons, and other illegal items.
At approximately 2:00 a.m. on March 12th Wynyard RCMP stopped a vehicle on B Avenue in connection with an ongoing investigation.
A search of the vehicle and the individual led officers to seize 132 grams of methamphetamine, 162 grams of marijuana, brass knuckles, forged identification, drug paraphernalia, and 19 packs of unstamped tobacco.
Police also confirmed the vehicle had been reported stolen from Calgary.
Jason Wingert has been charged with multiple offences, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, identity theft, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and several document-related offences.
He is scheduled to appear in Wynyard Provincial Court on May 22nd.
