A by-election could soon be taking place in the Town of Swan River.
This comes after the immediate resignation of Councillor Tracy Boychuk from council as of yesterday (Wed).
Elected in 2022, Boychuk was serving her first term on Council.
During her time in office, she was the chair of the Recreation and Cultural Services Committee, where she championed numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for residents and most notably, she was a strong and vocal advocate for the development of a new arena.
The town said in a release that they regret her departure but respect her decision and thank her for her service.
The Town of Swan River will provide further information in the coming days regarding an upcoming By-Election to fill this vacant seat.
