Hey there, fellow book readers! I recently took a bit of a detour and checked out something slightly out of my comfort zone: The Art of War by Sun Tzu.
The decision to read this classic came from two places. First, a nostalgic throwback to a movie from my childhood Bring It On: In It To Win It, where the rival team’s captain was always reading and quoting from The Art of War to strategize her way to victory (not joking). And second, my boss casually mentioned it as a must-read, so I thought, why not give it a shot?
Now, this book is all about military strategy and was written way back in ancient China. But honestly? I had a tough time seeing how its strategies fit into modern stuff like cheerleading or business. Maybe I’m just not cut out for battles or war, but hey, that’s no surprise!
Even though connecting with the content was tricky, I still appreciated checking out a piece of history. It’s short and sweet, and I’m glad I gave it a go. But now, I’m ready for something a bit lighter and more up my alley.
Got any fun or exciting book recs for me to check out next? Let me know in the comments!
