The Yorkton Terriers are pleased to announce that graduating forward Tate Schofer has committed to Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) Trojans for the 2025/26 season.
Schofer, a Regina product, contributed nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points in 27 regular season games while adding five goals in nine postseason games
He showcased his clutch performance during the 2025 SJHL playoffs when he scored a dramatic game-tying goal with just 4.1 seconds left in Game 2 against the Melville Millionaires, pushing the game into overtime, where the Terriers eventually secured victory. He also netted the series-winning goal in overtime of Game 5, propelling Yorkton into the second round of the playoffs.
Prior to his time with the Terriers, Schofer played for the Moose Jaw Warriors in the Western Hockey League (WHL), where he gained valuable experience over two seasons.
