
Yorkton Terriers forward David Coyle has announced his commitment to join the Vermont State University Castleton Spartans for the 2025–26 NCAA Division III hockey season.
The North Vancouver native joined the Terriers in December 2023 following a trade from the Melfort Mustangs, where he had already tallied 27 points in 31 games.
His impact in Yorkton was immediate. In the 2023–24 season, he finished third on the team in scoring with 45 points (23 goals, 22 assists) over 57 games .
His offensive contributions continued into the 2024–25 season, where he compiled a team-leading 32 goals, 38 assists for 70 points in 52 games, which had him finish second in team scoring and fourth overall in the SJHL.
“I loved my time in Yorkton—from my billets to being at the rink and seeing all the support from the whole town. It was a great experience,” Coyle said. “I’m really excited to have a new experience in America and know I’m going to a good school and athletic program.”
Coyle becomes the sixth graduating Terrier to announce his commitment for post-secondary hockey next season.
