The annual Smile Cookie campaign has once again delivered sweet results, raising a record-breaking $20,033 this year in support of Brayden Ottenbreit Close Cuts for Cancer. The campaign, a long-standing partnership with Tim Hortons, continues to make a significant impact on the lives of local cancer patients and their families.
This year’s total surpasses the 2023 figure by $3,000 and brings the grand total raised through the initiative since 2018 to more than $80,000. All proceeds go directly to the Local Cancer Initiatives Program, which supports patients within a 100-kilometre radius of Yorkton.
Funds from the campaign help cover the cost of overnight stays at the Regina Cancer Patient Lodge and one-week stays at Ronald McDonald House in Saskatoon for families with children receiving treatment. The program also contributes to Camp Circle of Friends, a medically supervised camp for children affected by cancer, and provides comfort and encouragement through the Cancer Champions program, which gifts treatment shirts and trophies to children undergoing cancer care in Saskatchewan.
The campaign’s success is made possible by the dedicated efforts of volunteers and the continued partnership with Tim Hortons, reinforcing the community’s strong commitment to supporting those affected by cancer.
