Manitoba’s Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) is looking into serious injuries related to the arrest of a man in Dauphin earlier this week.
On Tuesday, Dauphin RCMP notified the IIU of an incident that occurred shortly after 3 o’clock that morning, in which Mounties were called to a report of a man in a mental health crisis, at a hotel on Main Street South.
Upon arrival, police found that the man had left the scene, and he was eventually located in a dense bush area, with a police dog used to locate the man, resulting in the man sustaining a dog bite that was treated in hospital.
The IIU asks anyone with information or video footage related to this incident, to call toll-free 1-844-667-6060.
