The death of a man while in police custody in Kamsack this week is under investigation by Saskatchewan’s Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT).
On Tuesday, RCMP arrested a 61-year-old man in Kamsack, on multiple outstanding warrants, and after making his first court appearance Wednesday, he remained in custody, to appear again Friday.
However, a guard at the Kamsack detachment discovered the man unresponsive Thursday, and EMS personnel were called, however, the man was pronounced dead.
The man’s name has not been released, though his family has been notified.
