There’s something so comforting about curling up with an old DVD. The other night, I decided to watch one of my all-time favourite movies, Music and Lyrics. There I was, settled in with snacks, when I found myself watching those classic upcoming movie trailers from 2007. That’s when I spotted it: the trailer for No Reservations. I’ve had this movie on my watchlist for years, but somehow I’d never gotten around to seeing it. This time, I made up my mind. After Music and Lyrics, I was finally going to watch No Reservations.
Then came the modern-day movie lover’s struggle: where to actually find it. I checked everywhere! Netflix, Crave, Disney+, Prime. Nothing. It seemed like No Reservations had vanished into thin air. Just as I was about to give up, I found it available to rent on YouTube for $5. Was I really about to pay five bucks to watch one movie? Absolutely. Once I set my mind to it, that’s it.
And let me tell you…it was totally worth it. No Reservations is such a charming, feel-good film. I absolutely love a good food movie, and this one did not disappoint. Every dessert looked mouthwatering, and that giant bowl of pasta? I’d happily order two. Catherine Zeta-Jones was fantastic, Abigail Breslin was adorable, and the whole thing, even though it starts off fairly sad, is quite the heartwarming movie.

So yes, I spent $5 for a single movie night, and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Now I’m on a mission to find the DVD, because let’s be real, I can’t keep paying $5 every time I want to satisfy a pasta and movie craving!
