A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 83 and Provincial Road 257 in the RM of Wallace-Woodworth has resulted in one fatality and several injuries.
Virden RCMP responded to the scene around 5:30 p.m. yesterday, where they found an SUV with significant damage and a truck overturned on its side.
Initial investigation indicates the SUV crossed the highway and was struck on the rear driver’s side by the truck.
A 68-year-old woman from Quebec, died at the scene. The Driver of the SUV a 45-year-old woman from Saskatchewan and two Quebec passengers were hospitalized and are in stable condition.
Of the four occupants in the truck, three sustained minor injuries. However, a 19-year-old from Winkler was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
RCMP believe alcohol was not a factor and continue to investigate the crash.
