The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) has revised its provincial fire ban, to allow for the usage of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and utility terrain vehicles (UTVs) in all parts of the province.
SPSA Vice-President of Operations Steve Roberts says favourable weather conditions have allowed the SPSA to revise the fire ban, though they ask that riders of those vehicles stay away from the active fire lines, to ensure their safety and the safety of fire crews battling wildfires.
As this time, the provincial fire ban remains in effect, with no open fires, controlled burns or fireworks allowed in areas north of the provincial forest boundary, up to the Churchill River.
