Carrot River RCMP are investigating a collision that occurred early Friday morning.
At approximately 10 a.m., officers received a report of an injured person on Highway 55. Upon arrival, they located an adult male who was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
A preliminary investigation determined that the man had been involved in a crash near the turnoff to Red Earth Cree Nation. The vehicle had left the road and ended up in a creek. The man managed to escape the vehicle and seek help.
With assistance from the Carrot River Fire Department, a second man was extracted from the vehicle and also taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
