A 37-year-old Dauphin man is facing several charges after a violent incident late Tuesday night.
Around 10:30 p.m., Dauphin RCMP on patrol spotted a disturbance outside a business on Main Street South. Officers learned a man had been refused service and was now threatening an employee and trying to force his way back inside. The suspect, identified as Hector Drynock, was arrested at the scene.
While being transported to the detachment, he reportedly threatened officers and continued to act aggressively in custody. Paramedics were called to assess him, but Drynock became combative and was taken to hospital.
There, he allegedly spat on an officer and a hospital staff member and continued making threats. He remains in custody and faces charges including two counts of assaulting a police officer, uttering threats, resisting arrest, and mischief. The investigation is ongoing.
