The City of Melville has officially welcomed Aaron Buckingham as its new Fire Chief.
Bringing over 25 years of firefighting experience, Buckingham most recently served as Deputy Fire Chief with the RM of Britannia. He also held the role of Fire Chief in Lloydminster starting in October 2023, following his two terms as a city councilor.
“I’m excited to serve the people of Melville and support this dedicated team with some experience and teaching expertise,” said Buckingham. “Together, we’ll build on the department’s history and reinforce our commitment to protecting the community.”
In addition to his leadership in emergency services, Buckingham has been actively involved in community organizations, including the Lloydminster Chamber of Commerce and the Rotary Club. He also serves as Zone 8 Director and current Vice-President of the Saskatchewan Volunteer Firefighters Association.
Buckingham officially began his role in Melville on June 9th.
