Members of Conexus, Cornerstone, and Synergy Credit Unions have voted to merge, forming a single province-wide credit union on January 1, 2026.
The merger received strong support—87.5% from Conexus, 86.5% from Cornerstone, and 88.7% from Synergy—easily surpassing the 75% approval needed from each membership. Voting was held online and in-branch from June 3 to 13.
The new credit union will be governed by a 12-member board, with six directors from Conexus and three each from Cornerstone and Synergy.
With $15 billion in assets, 1,400 employees, and 57 branches across 50 Saskatchewan communities, the new organization aims to strengthen local service, expand expertise, and stay member-focused. A CEO and new name—selected from one of the three existing credit unions—will be announced before the official launch.
This merger ensures long-term strength, sustainability, and community connection for generations to come.
