What an incredible weekend of horsepower at the Thunder In The Parkland Truck & Tractor Pulls in Yorkton! I had the pleasure of being invited to help announce the action-packed event, and I have to say, I had an absolute blast from start to finish. It was an easy decision to say ‘yes’ to this opportunity, especially when I heard who I’d be working alongside.
Dallas Baillie, who handles the track announcing, is a true pro and does a fantastic job every single year. If you’ve ever heard him call the action, you know how much energy and excitement he brings. Dallas makes everything run so smoothly, and it was extra special for me since we go way back—we’ve known each other our whole lives, both growing up in Abernethy. Working with a friend and seasoned announcer like Dallas made the weekend even more memorable.
Another highlight was having Garth from Saddles & Steel in charge of the sound and music. Garth absolutely nailed it, picking out the perfect tunes to match the vibe of each puller and keeping the crowd pumped up all weekend long. His attention to detail and ability to read the atmosphere really took the event to the next level.
If you didn’t make it out this year, you definitely missed a show to remember! You’ll want to grab your tickets early next time they roll into town. It’s an experience that brings the community together and delivers non-stop thrills for all ages.
