
The Yorkton Sports Hall of Fame will celebrate its 2025 induction class on Saturday, September 6 at the Gallagher Centre, honouring three individuals and one team for their contributions to local sports.
2025 Inductees:
- Neil Weinmaster (Curling – Builder): A dedicated ice maker since 1988, Neil has spent 26 years with the Yorkton Curling Club and managed ice for events at every level, including international competitions.
- Scott Borys (Volleyball – Builder): A lifelong contributor to volleyball, Scott began refereeing in high school and now serves as national referee chair for Volleyball Canada, with over four decades of service.
- Harvey Stebner (Hockey & Volleyball – Builder): Harvey has coached minor sports since 1970, led the Yorkton Terriers, and helped launch the Yorkton Macs volleyball club. He also held leadership roles with Sask Lotteries and the 1986 Sask Winter Games.
- 2019 Yorkton Raider Gridders (Football – Team): This team captured both league and provincial titles in thrilling fashion and was ranked third nationally among small-city teams.
These inductees will join the 113 athletes, builders, and teams previously honoured since the Hall’s founding in 1994.
The evening will also include the Yorkton Lions Support for Sports Award, now in its third year, recognizing outstanding support for local sports by businesses, organizations, and individuals. Nominations are open until August 10.
The event begins at 5 p.m. with a light buffet followed by the ceremony. Tickets are available at admin@yshf.ca. All past inductees are invited to attend with a guest, courtesy of the Hall of Fame.
