The Yorkton Exhibition Association officially kicked off the city’s annual summer fair with the Opening Ceremonies and the traditional Seniors Tea on Monday afternoon.
The fair, now a staple of summer in Yorkton, brings together residents and visitors for a week filled with entertainment, excitement, and celebration of local tradition.
During the opening event, Yorkton Exhibition Association President Lyle Walsh took a moment to recognize and honour longtime supporters June Just and the late Lyle Just for their outstanding dedication to the Exhibition over the years. Their commitment and countless hours of volunteer work have played a vital role in helping the event grow and thrive.
“It’s something we’ve wanted to do for a number of years,” said Walsh, expressing gratitude for the Justs’ ongoing contributions to the community and the organization.
This year’s fair promises fun for all ages, with a full lineup that includes rides, chuckwagon races, a petting zoo, live entertainment, and various family-friendly attractions.
The fair will run through Saturday, and organizers are encouraging everyone to come out and enjoy the festivities.
