RCMP in Manitoba have confirmed that a two-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon on Highway 10 has claimed a third life.
At the scene, about 1.5 kilomtres north of Road 224 North, Swan River RCMP found two vehicles in the east-side ditch, and upon investigation, Mounties say it appears a southbound vehicle crossed the centre line and hit a northbound vehicle parked on the shoulder of the road.
The two people in the parked vehicle – a 42-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman – later died in hospital.
The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 36-year-old Winnipeg man, along with his passenger, a 29-year-old Swan River man, were taken to hospital with critical injuries.
Police say the Winnipeg man remains in hospital in stable condition, but now confirm the Swan River man has died from his injuries.
Swan River RCMP continue to investigate the incident, with the assistance of the RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team and a traffic analyst.
