The Government of Saskatchewan is providing $200,000 in annual funding to SaskAbilities to support individuals living with dementia in the Yorkton region.
The funding will enhance SaskAbilities’ Dementia Friendly Life Enrichment Program , which helps people with dementia remain in their homes while supporting their caregivers.
The program delivers in-home activities, reduces caregiver burnout through respite support, connects clients with local resources, and offers guidance for navigating the care system. It also promotes behaviour management strategies to assist seniors living with dementia.
Services will be available within a 150-kilometre radius of Yorkton, supported by funding for staffing, training, travel, and materials .
