A heartbreaking tragedy in the R.M. of Dauphin.
Dauphin RCMP say a 15-year-old boy has died after his dirt bike collided with a deer late Saturday night.
It happened on Road 114W, southeast of Valley River.
Mounties say the teen was not wearing a helmet, and was thrown from the bike.
He was rushed to hospital by EMS, but later died from his injuries.
RCMP and a forensic collision reconstructionist are continuing to investigate.
Mounties are reminding riders and families about the importance of safety gear, especially helmets, when operating off-road vehicles.
