There’s nothing quite like the excitement of chuckwagon racing—thundering hooves, skilled drivers, and a surge of adrenaline that sweeps through the crowd. I finally got a chance to catch up with our GX94 chuckwagon driver to chat about his recent races in Yorkton and his hometown rodeo, in Sheho, and what a ride it’s been!

- The Meet n’ Greet with the GX94 Chuckwagon
Yorkton set the stage for a true showcase of talent and teamwork, with an incredible 36 chuckwagons taking part. Our driver shared how fierce the competition was, but also how much respect and camaraderie exists between teams. The sound of the wagons rolling across the track, the cheers of the fans, and the thrill of the race made for an unforgettable weekend.
From there, it was off to Sheho—his hometown, and always a special stop on the circuit. With 26 wagons lining up, the atmosphere was electric as friends, family, and neighbors gathered to cheer on their favorites. You could hear the pride and nerves in Kelvin’s voice talking when the conversation turned to watching his son Tanner race 3 across for the first time.
This past weekend was a big one for Tanner, as it marked his first time racing three across—a milestone for any young driver and Tanner handled it like a pro! From Yorkton’s great turnout to the close-knit fun in Sheho, what a weekend it was!
