Yorkton City Council has approved a zoning bylaw regarding discretionary use, when it comes to potential sites for night clubs and truck stops in the city.
Director of Planning, Building and Development Michael Eger says it’s about making sure these businesses are located in places where they are best suited, adding it’s all about working together on a case-by-case basis, to find solutions that will satisfy everyone involved.
He says the city wants to encourage development, while making sure residents are comfortable with the process.
Eger says there has been one expression of interest in a night club at this time, while multiple parties have expressed interest in a truck stop.
