The long-standing member of Parliament for Yorkton–Melville, has confirmed she will not seek a fifth term in the House of Commons.
Cathay Wagantall announced the decision on Monday, stating that her current term will be her last.
Wagantall, first elected in 2015, has represented the riding for a decade, comfortably winning re-election in 2025 with nearly 78 percent of the vote
She says said the support she received over four elections “has been both sobering and affirming.”
Wagantall emphasized her desire to leave on her own terms and at the right moment, ensuring that the riding remains in steady hands throughout the transition.
