The Waywayseecappo Wolverines have acquired the CJHL rights to 19 year old defenceman Tavon McCorrister and 19 year old forward Ian Buors from the Warman Wolverines of the SJHL for a player development fee.
McCorrister, a 6’5 blueliner from Winnipeg, split last season between the Notre Dame Hounds and Kindersley Klippers, and has also played with the Winnipeg Blues and OCN Blizzard. He represented Team Manitoba at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships in 2023 and 2024.
Buors, from St. Laurent, MB, posted 28 points in 56 games with the Hounds and skated in the MJHL-SJHL Showcase. He also played for Team Manitoba at the NAHC in 2023 and 2024.
