I’ll be away next week, taking the last of my summer holidays. No wild adventures or exotic getaways for me this time! Instead, I’ll be embracing my role as hockey parent and spending the week driving my son to his goalie camp in Regina.
While we might not be sleeping in or lounging by a beach, I’m honestly excited for this time together—even if it means early mornings and lots of coffee. My son will be on the ice bright and early, Monday to Friday, working hard to sharpen his skills and prepare for the upcoming season. This camp has become a summer tradition for us—he’s been attending for the past 4 or 5 years now, and he absolutely loves it. Between all the ice time, classroom sessions, and dryland training, it’s a full week dedicated to his development as a goalie.
I’m incredibly proud of his determination and love that he’s so motivated to improve, especially with his goal of making the SaskEast Oilers U15 AA team this season. It’s inspiring to see him chase his dreams and give it his all.
Wishing everyone a fantastic week ahead! I’ll be back and ready to catch up on Monday, August 11th, bright and early. Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer!
