Saskatchewan Roughriders fans have once again sold out one of the Canadian Football League’s most anticipated games of the season.
The 60th Labour Day Classic, presented by the Mosaic Company, will be played in front of a full house at Mosaic Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 31, when the Riders host their longtime rivals, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
“The support we’ve seen from Rider Nation this season has truly been incredible,” said Riders president and CEO Craig Reynolds in a statement. “The energy at a sold-out Mosaic Stadium is unmatched, and there’s no better showcase of that passion than the Labour Day Classic.”
The matchup marks a milestone in the Roughriders-Bombers rivalry and adds to a season of strong home attendance for Saskatchewan.
For fans who missed out on Labour Day tickets, the team is promoting another opportunity to experience Mosaic Stadium before summer ends. Riderland — also known as Family Day — is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 16 at 1 p.m., presented by nîkihk.
The event will feature family-friendly activities including face painters, princesses and superheroes in Riderville, as well as pre-game minor football action. The Jr. Rider Cheer team will perform at halftime, and fans will be allowed on the field following the game.
Following the Labour Day game, the Riders still have three more home games on the regular season schedule: Legends Night on Sept. 13, Lights Out: Land of the Living Skies on Oct. 10, and the season finale, Welcome to Fabulous Riderville, on Oct. 25.
