RCMP are investigating after a 27-year-old man from Shoal Lake drowned in Keeseekoowenin First Nation.
Elphinstone RCMP say they received a missing person report at 4:20 p.m. on Aug. 7 for a man last seen in the community.
Officers learned that Keeseekoowenin First Nation Security had attempted to stop a vehicle he was driving at about 10 p.m. on Aug. 6. The vehicle fled, but was later found abandoned near the lagoon.
At 8:40 p.m. on Aug. 7, Sandy Lake Search and Rescue found the man deceased in the lagoon.
Police say foul play is not suspected. The investigation continues.
