If you weren’t at the Yorkton Flour Mill’s Rally Round the Mill this Saturday, you really missed a fantastic time! It was such a fun day, packed with good food, great music, and lots of laughs with friends and neighbours.
The morning kicked off with a delicious pancake breakfast, and let me tell you, those pancakes tasted even better knowing they were being served by our amazing local firefighters. There were tours of the historic flour mill running the whole afternoon too. It was so interesting to learn about this important piece of our community and see how flour, the ingredient behind so many of our favourite treats, is actually made! Of course, the kids had a blast as well. There was face painting, a bouncy house, and ice cream to keep everyone smiling.
A big shady tent made the perfect spot to relax and enjoy some awesome live performances. James Betts, Gary & The Girls, Rocketbilly, and The Jackie Guy Band all took the stage, and their music had everyone up and dancing. It was impossible not to get caught up in the fun! And just when you thought the day couldn’t get any better, there was a free burger supper for everyone. Nothing brings people together like sharing a meal, and it was the perfect way to end the day.
After no rally last year, it was so nice to see Rally Round the Mill back at the flour mill where it belongs. The whole day was filled with community spirit, happy faces, and great memories. If you missed out this time, don’t worry, there’s always next year. I know I’m already looking forward to it, and I hope to see you there!
